Main Symptoms
Do not send your child to school if your child or any member of the household has any of the following symptoms:-
- a new continuous cough and / or:- (this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- high temperature (over 37.8)
- a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
This BBC Video may help you differentiate between a normal cold related cough and a 'continuous' cough (Please note this stated a self isolation period of 7 days but this has now been increased to 10 days for the person displaying symptoms).
