Terrington St Clement Community School

A traditional school with traditional values where

we aspire, succeed and thrive

Autumn Term 2018

Autumn 1 Theme: Our Community

During the first few days and weeks we focus on getting everyone settled and confident with routines. We agree our class rules and how we behave towards one another to get along and ensure everyone is happy.

We talk about -  What makes a good friend? What do friends do together? How can we make friends? We are very lucky as we mix with all children across both classes so we should always be able to find a friend to play with.

We are very much part of the school community so we get to know the school through visits to the library to use the computers and in assemblies with the rest of the school.

We get to explore and know our outdoor environment through play and activities around autumn and the changes taking place in this environment.

Autumn 2 Theme: Celebrations

This term we will be exploring and learning about different celebrations such as birthdays, bonfire night, Remembrance, Diwali and Christmas. We will make links between our own and others' experiences as they celebrate.

We will also prepare for our Christmas performance by learning about the First Christmas and will tell the story through songs and rhymes. Everyone will have a part to play in telling the story for family and friends.
